Anyone know of a Internet Service Providers that can give you speeds of T1 or greater and flexible enough to go anywhere with as little lead time as possible? Wanting T1+ speed, at a mobile site somewhere in Kansas or Missouri, with a 24-48 hour install? Wireless, Satellite, etc... Also has to be IPSEC VPN friendly (No Direcway). Our company has been working on a Disaster Recovery Plan and we signed a contract with Agility. We pay them a monthly service fee and they guarantee that on the event of a disaster, they will send us out a double wide trailer to the destination of our choice along with workstations, servers, and printers for up to 40 people. Everything to get us working again with minimal downtime. The problem is their basic package does not give you a lot of bandwidth (512/384kbps shared with VOIP phones). You can't just upgrade the bandwidth, and the monthly change for the Enterprise version is just way too expensive and still only gives you the bandwidth of a single T1 shared with VOIP. Our problem is that we have many remote offices that VPN into our network to do their work. With the above solution, we don't have the bandwidth to keep the status quo. Looking for any feedback regarding DRP bandwidth solutions available. Thanks.

not sure if my mail is getting thru from this address. Due to the severe weather the Kansas City Public Library will be closing tonight at 6 p.m. So we can't go to the library. Anyone want to meet at Denny's anyway?

Old laptop drive, perfect for /boot

I'm always looking for used hard drives to mount as /boot with older BIOSes that can't handle drives bigger than 32GB/64GB/137GB. I just took apart an old 386 DELL laptop and found what is either a 30MB hard drive or an 80MB hard drive (its either a CP 2034 or a CP 2084, there's something stamped over what could be a 3 or an 8). With a 2.5" to 3.5" converter I've just found a decent drive to mount as /boot for an older BIOS. I second the PVR-250, it's what I use in my MythTV box at home and I haven't had any complaints. It is very well tested within myth. I have a myth box with one of these cards and it was a snap to set up (FC3 following Jared Wilson's guide). It also has the remote that is well documented and performs nicely. Best PVR Card

Those of you who have experience with setting up a PVR such as MythTV, what is a good capture card that will be easy to setup and, more importantly, easy to use? I suppose the easy to use part depends on the software. From what I've seen MythTV looks pretty easy to use. I plan to install and use this on my wife's existing Mandriva system. Any advice is welcome. Thanks, Jim

I find MRTG to be a bit of a pain in the ass to set up. I much prefer cacti (http://www.cacti.net). It can do all that MRTG can and more. It can zoom in on graphs to show a bit more detail, as well. We're using it here at work (in addition to MRTG and some other programs) for some of our monitoring. Rich

Linux Bandwidth Monitors

Anyone have any favorite bandwidth monitors they use? Our network utilization tippled last month and I'm trying to find out why. Need something that I can be used to pin-point the IP address on our network that is generating the most traffic.
