Xen. KVM, network bridging and multiple nics

Objective: I'm installing XEN on a server I'm building. The server has two NICs, and will have a dual connection to the Internet, with 5 fixed used IP addresses. I plan to run 3 guests. One of those guests will use two IPs , hopefully. Reading the KVM documentation (I'm also considering KVM, if XEN doesn't work out) and the XEN documentation leaves me a bit confused on the network bridging. The XEN documentation seems to indicate you NEED to have two NICs to do this. The KVM documentation seems to indicate you need to bridge in order for the guests to be network visible. But what I want to do is make sure that either one or both NICs are visible to any given guest. So can I bridge, both NICs independently? Or merge them into one fatter pipe? Or something else. This thread should be archived and perhaps even Data Mined for the collection of "Sanity Savers" in it. If challenged to list a single point? I'd have to make it a tie for two. The two being reference to those "endorphin moments" and the *grimoire*concept. The endorphin rush of getting the Zen inherent in .nix realms is addictive. The *grimoire is that which increases those moments!* I spent an inordinate time trying to retrocreate the missing site documentation/manuals for a recent contract. A contract that would have been effortless joy to have worked. Had only my predecessor kept a "site grimoire" chained to the server rack! The comments about meaningful names and comment are not of mere pain/joy importance for all the code we write or systems we set up, Those concepts are beyond mere ease of situation to the "next person" working something. They're arguably a totally Pass or EPIC FAIL level importance. And the "Why?" of it becomes of even more grim import, Do every task as if you will be that "next person" working the aftermath. As often, you will BE that next person. I'm cleaning out some of my hoard, and I'm hoping some of these fine specimens can find a good home. Unix workstations: 5x SGI Indy Workstations 1x Sun SPARCstation 5 2x Sun SPARCstation IPX 1x Sun SPARCclassic 1x Sun external SCSI hard drive 1x 17" monitor that works with these workstations (I believe it's a DB13W3 connector) 1x external SCSI CDROM drive Miscellaneous keyboards and mice + 1 IndyCam PC parts and accessories: 1x External 56kx2/ISDN US Robotics modem. Really nice, speaks full AT command set. 1x ActionTEC 56k PCI modem - has Linux drivers (company at the time supported Linux) 1x CueCat barcode scanner 1x BusLogic PCI SCSI3 adapter (internal and external connector) 3x 3COM ISA 10Mbit 3c509 Ethernet cards (single chip, really nice) 1x 3COM PCI 10Mbit 3c905 Ethernet card 1x Cirrus Logic ISA video card 1x Matrox Millenium PCI video card I also have an SGI ChallengeXL 12 CPU R4400 supercomputer. Yep. It'll require a truck to haul away (size of a refrigerator), but it's awesome. I even have the IRIX CDROMs you'd need to get it running. Note that none of this stuff is in poor condition - I got rid of that stuff years ago. These are all in good shape and were working the last time I used them. I treat my toys well. Anyhow, as I was saying I'd like to find a good home for these. Whatever I can't find a home for I'm going to recycle, which would be a shame. Hi guys and thanks Jon for the response. I have the Mac to VGA adapter, in fact I have 3 of them and my current 2 monitors do not sync up right to the mac but work fine on my old PC which is a Pentium 120 with SIS VGA card. One monitor will do 640 x 480 which is supposedly the resolution on the Mac IIci -- however, IIRC there is a sync on green signal which the monitor must support for the Mac and neither of my two do this. So I have the dongle, but need the multisync monitor, or two like I mentioned :-) Hope someone can help. Monitor Needed

Greetings All: I am seeking an older NEC Multisync or Sony Multisync monitor, 15 inch preferred that needs a good home. This is for one of my old systems that I am keeping going! If I can find two of these, that would even be better. The exact NEC model that I would like to find is XE15. Not sure what the Sony counterpart is... the jist is that they must be multisync because the machine is an old Macintosh IIci. Roku XD Demo tonight

I wll be bringing and demoing a Roku XD this evening. It's a tiny embeded linux media center device that plays netflix, amongst many other things. The XD is the last of the breed to output via composite and hdmi, for those of you who like your media without HDCP. I got mine from woot.com for $50.
