Job family description

Desktop Support Specialist II

 

·    Configures and installs new computer hardware and software for end users.

·    Assist end users with moderate to complex hardware, software and operating system issues.

·    Performs asset management activities such inventory check in, updates and reconciliation.

·    Coordinates and configures IT products and services for activities such as video conferencing, webinars and conference room presentations.

·    Documents group process and procedure.  Reviews documentation created by team members.

·    Researches, recommends and implements solutions with direction from the senior or team leader.

 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred. 

3 – 5 years experience.

 

Should be pursuing Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification

 

·          Experienced with Windows XP, Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer.

·          Experienced working in a Windows server network environment specifically account and file management.

·          Experienced with current PC/laptop hardware.

·          Understands the troubleshooting process and can communicate effectively with end users.

Hardware break/fix
Hardware related asset management
Physical hardware moves
Documentation of hardware specific policies and procedures
