The Kansas City Linux Users Group booth at ITEC is #423.
It looks like some folks on this list will get their wish, albeit in a "monkey's paw" fashion: the booth package for "Associate Partners of ITEC!" does not come with electricity, meaning that there will be no demo PC, but also no "onsite burning of LiveCDs", and no laptops which need to be plugged into an outlet. No demonstration machines whatsoever.
Did someone with ITEC actually say this, or did you just not find any electricity? If the former, I'm mighty pissed myself.
The ITEC folks passed me on to the Overland Park Convention Center representative, who pulled out a sheaf of complicated paperwork and pointed out that "Booth #423", assigned to the "Kansas City Linux Users Group", under the heading "Electricity", had the words "NOT INCLUDED". So there's a piece of paper which says that Booth #423 does not (officially) get electricity. We also had "NOT INCLUDED" under the areas of "Tables" and "Chairs".
There are electrical outlets within 60' of the booth.
I'll bring some extension cords in case we get a chance to use them. Don't give up on the demo PC. If there's a way to make it work, we need to do it.
I've got a 40' extension cord, a 25' extension cord, and a power strip in the trunk, and while the demo PC is back in my car, I haven't taken it out of the car and since the monitor is now LCD the whole setup fits in one box.
Whomever has the KCLUG banner needs to bring it by, and the KCLUG librarian needs to bring the Linux books, so that there will be subjects to talk about.
I'll be there with the books and alternate banner, bright and early.
