Can you do apt for rpm? Then apt-get install inkscape.

Folks: I'd like to try Inkscape (oss version if Illustrator) on my RedHat 9 machine, but the rpm bails out with "Need gtk 2"; I wonder how many things will break if I try to install gtk2 ( I also wonder how many

things will have to go on before the tool kit will install. Does anybody

have experience with this particular upgrade; I'm sure many have been through rpm hell of one sort or another...
