Hi All, ITEC is coming up October 25-26th They're willing to give us the same deal as last year. If everything looks good, I'll sign and send in our agreement (http://www.kclug.org/KCLUG-ITEC_2006_Agreement.pdf).
Chris -- I digitally sign my emails. If you see an attachment with .asc, then that means your email client doesn't support PGP digital signatures. http://www.gnupg.org/(en)/documentation/faqs.html#q1.1
This year lets test the main LiveCD handed out, on multiple machine types, before handing them out.
I'd like to avoid the Ubuntu LiveCD fiasco we had last year when a bunch of user machines couldn't boot the LiveCD.

I think getting some pre-made CDs from Ubuntu's Shipit would be a pretty good idea, especially with the most recent release focusing on long term supportability. Besides, Edgy won't be out in time anyway. Anyone want to put a figure on how many CDs we should ask for?
NOTE: This is not to preclude people burning something else - it doesn't have to be either/or. I'd love to see SuSE (and not just so that I can make brass instrument sounds) in the mix as well.

300
Try to avoid giving out more than one distro. Usually people at the booth want one copy of everything.

You *might* get them in time if you order now-- unless they give events priority. Mine usually take a month or two to get here, though. On the bright side, I do have about 15 or so Kubuntu discs I haven't given away yet...
