Below is the job description for the Systems Administrator opening. Working onsite 3 days a week and remote from home 2 days a week. This is a 1 year contract with possible extensions or conversion to a permanent employee. Please let me know if you know anyone who would be interested in this opening.

From the manager: We have quite a few technologies in our environment that we support (Windows Servers, VMware, Storage and Backups, AD, DNS, some Linux/Kubernetes/Ansible, etc). Also a lot of datacenter and on prem support and not as much work in the Cloud. Linux, Kubernetes, and Ansible are really nice to have skills.

Technical:

* This person will be covering a lot of their on-prem data center focused infrastructure, even though they are a hybrid environment with CGP and on prem the Sr Engineer will cover their Cloud environment * This is more of a Swiss Army knife type of position since they cover a lot of their infrastructure - They will support their Windows and Linux Servers, VMware (moving from ESX to VXRails), Storage Tapes, Backups, Active Directory, Horizon View, Database Management, etc. * Kubernetes, Ansible are nice to haves since they do have some critical applications running on Linux. Just need someone with a high technical aptitude that can pick things up quickly if they lack this experience * Will partner with the Managed Service Provider (Fujitsu for now)

Other Details:

* This will start as a 12 month contract. Could extend if they do a great job and stay engaged. Potential to go full time but definitely not a guarantee * This role is a hybrid role (3 days on site, 2 days remote). They will start out a 100% on site to learn the lay of the land and once they feel comfortable with the environment they will move to the hybrid schedule. * 7am-4pm is the preferred shift. Can be flexible to 8am-5pm. * No on call support

Open to Mid-level or Sr Candidates. Prefer more tenured candidates since they will be covering a lot of aspects of their infrastructure and need to have a high technical aptitude.

Job Description

Responsible for driving initiatives and projects related to the design, implementation of support of server, storage, and application environments. Takes ownership of various operational environments, both internally and externally hosted, ensuring highest levels of performance, stability, and security. Work with team members and vendors to develop technology strategy and implement chosen solutions.

Responsibilities: - Manages all aspects of the Data Center's servers, storage and application processing and develops recommendations for new or enhanced systems, services and technologies throughout the company - This person will be covering the on-prem infrastructure.
