I have a fairly new SLES 10.0 OS running on a Sun x2100 box, which replaced a RH 8.0/Dell server, (which worked absolutely great). Both servers do/did the same basic functions-file server/SAMBA and very little else. One problem on my new server however, is that all the logins/logoffs on XP clients at a remote branch (connected via VPN to main branch-different subnet) take extremely long (4-15 minutes!) to load/save user settings. With the RH server there were no delays like this. I suspect a NetBIOS issue, but have that enabled in smb.conf on the new server (pretty much config same as the old smb.conf).
Any suggestions?
