The Going Linux podcast has some good resources for blind users. In episode 117, they interview a blind linux user who builds and sells systems. He discusses his system setup and additional resources. I was recently referred to a skills testing site, proveit.com. They have a number of Linux skills tests available - all of which can only be taken in Internet Explorer running on Windows. It occurs to me that yes, there is a world where all the admins run Windows and manage their Linux systems and servers with putty, or more likely vnc or a web interface. I'm sure this is more common in the "enterprise" Linux world than in my experience. Besides the tests working only in Windows, they say that they were tested in Firefox 2.0 and IE6 - the latter being a notorious security hole that Microsoft has struggled in vain to get rid of. Anyway, just so you know, anybody citing proveit.com testing as evidence of Linux knowledge is pulling your leg.

I say android is the most common linux(not just server or desktop), but that's a pretty wild guess. I occasionally run into sites that haven't got a clue they are running on the Internet and want to do bizarre things with my printer interface. Some sites check your browser user agent string, but then use multiple addresses that possibly also check the string. Have you tried changing your user agent string both per site and globally? It may be that the sites require a windows-only DDE/ActiveX/WhateverOtherNewNamemMSGivesIt program to print. Like Coupons.com apparently does. If changing your global browser string doesn't help and private browsing doesn't work, you only real option is to complain. Bizarre that coupon sites which are geared for savvy shoppers would be so clueless to the savviest coupon in all of the PC world. The Linux coupon. All, Has anybody had success "couponing" on Linux? Many of the coupon sites won't print under Linux, and indeed seem to go to quite a bit of trouble to make sure the browser is running in Windows. One site refused to print even when I viewed it with Internet Explorer 7 under Wine. (Installed via ies4linux).
