I dont find that the adjustment to 16x9 is such a big deal, it does change the size of my windows and I have to have them a bit higher up though. I am planning on buying three 16x9 screens in the near future but I plan on using two of them in portrait mode on each side of the middle one in landscape mode. We're having some trouble getting a MacBook Pro and a Palm Pre connected to a mailserver. We're using plain-text password authenticatioport with ssl on port 993, and both systems complain of an ssl error. I've installed the certificate on each device and told it to trust it. Has anybody had problems like this with Mac Mail or Palm devices? How did you solve it? Does anybody know what the limitations on what kind of imap configuration will work with these?

Buying a New Laptop

I'm buying a new laptop really soon. What do the members of KCLUG recommend for a Linux only laptop. Pre-installed or no OS is fine with me, I just don't want to pay for something I'm never going to use. I'm willing to spend in the neighborhood of a grand, give or take a few hundred. So, I want a fairly nice machine, light weight for travel, but durable and reliable. And, it goes without saying, Linux friendly. You guys are super resourceful, so I wanted to tap into the vast knowledge base on this list. Thanks in advance for your input. Jim Herrmann

PJ over at Groklaw is calling for anyone who has access to the Unix SysV r.4.2 MP errno.h file. She wants to see a comparison with the post USL v. UCB Unix/BSD litigation. so that would be BSD 4.4 or better. Anyone have access to such a version? She's trying to pick apart someone's outrageous claim. Why? I don't know. He's on third. Does anyone know of a free service that would route one or two VoIP phones? I imagine it would work with Skype, but is there a way to get it to work with Google Voice and get an outside number? Would you have to set up an Asterisk server? Item uses H.323 protocol - Works with Gatekeepers and Gateways - Enable P2P (Peer-to-peer) connections without Gatekeepers and Gateways - *Dialing Method:* - Phone to phone - Address translated via H.323 Gatekeeper It's been a while since I thought about VoIP, and all I could remember was the Asterisk (Asterix) server as a possiblity.
